Offer details

How the referral works

Enter a valid ING referral code in the “Promotional code” field when applying online for a new Orange Everyday account. During a calendar month, deposit at least $1,000 into the account, make 5 or more settled card purchases, and open a Savings Maximiser account (if you do not already have one) and deposit any amount.

Reward summary

Eligible new customers and their referrer can receive a cash bonus paid into their Orange Everyday accounts. The bonus amount may vary between targeted ING referral campaigns, so check the current offer attached to the referral code.

Terms summary

Available to eligible new Orange Everyday customers only. You must enter the referral code during your application; it cannot be added later. The offer does not apply if you have held an Orange Everyday account at any time since 1 July 2014 or opened one through an Orange Advantage home loan application. The $1,000 deposit and 5 settled card purchases must be completed within a calendar month, and a Savings Maximiser must also be opened and funded. Bonuses are generally paid within 30 days after all requirements are met. Campaign dates, bonus amounts and other conditions may vary.

ING Bank referral code FAQ

When you sign up for a new personal ING account using a valid referral code, both you and the person who invited you receive a $100 cash bonus directly deposited into your new Orange Everyday account. To successfully unlock this reward, the new user must complete four distinct milestones within a calendar month: (1) Enter the code in the "Promotional code" box during online application, (2) Deposit a total of $1,000+ from an external source (like your salary or another bank account), (3) Make 5 or more settled card purchases with your new debit card, and (4) Open a linked Savings Maximiser account and make a deposit of any amount into it.

A major point of confusion for new users is the difference between a "pending" and a "settled" transaction. To satisfy the referral conditions, your 5 card purchases must be fully processed and finalized by the merchant within the specified calendar month. Transactions that remain in a pending state at midnight on the last day of the month will not count toward your target until they officially settle. Additionally, certain transaction types are strictly excluded from this requirement, including ATM cash withdrawals, balance enquiries, cash advances, BPAY payments, direct debits, and EFTPOS cash-out-only transactions.

Once all the eligibility requirements are successfully completed by the referee, the cash bonus is generally processed and paid out to both parties in the following calendar month, typically within 30 days of meeting the final criteria. For existing users sharing their code, ING's terms can vary by campaign flight, but they typically enforce a capping rule (such as a maximum of 10 successful referrals per campaign). It is also important to note that the sign-up bonus is strictly reserved for brand-new customers; if you have previously held an ING account, the system will block the promotional reward tracking.
