Residential customers only. The new customer must not have held a GloBird electricity or gas account in the previous 24 months. The credit is applied after the new customer pays their first invoice by the due date, cannot be applied retrospectively, expires after 12 months if unused, and may be reversed if the new account closes within 3 months. Offer expires 30/06/2027 unless changed or withdrawn by GloBird.

Official referral termsThrough GloBird Energy's "Refer a Friend" program, when a new customer switches their home electricity or gas services using a valid invite link, both the referrer and the referee receive a $50 account credit (inclusive of GST). To successfully clear the automated tracking and trigger the payout, the newly invited friend must complete their property's energy transfer and fully pay their very first utility invoice on or before the designated due date. Once this initial payment is cleared, the $50 bonus will automatically be applied to both accounts and will appear on their subsequent monthly statements.
Yes, several platform guardrails apply to protect the promotion against abuse. Referral rewards can only be used as an account credit to offset future energy bills and are entirely non-redeemable for physical cash. Any unused portion of the referral credit carries a fixed lifespan and will expire 12 months from the date it was applied to your account balance. Furthermore, a strict 3-month retention clawback applies: if the referred friend cancels their plan or transfers their energy service away from GloBird within the first 3 months of their successful connection date, the system will automatically reverse and debit the $50 bonus from both accounts.
The referral system is strictly restricted to residential customers in active distribution networks across Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, and Queensland; business accounts, company employees, and channel marketing partners are completely excluded. To act as a valid referrer, your account must be active with no outstanding debt or overdue balances. Additionally, the tracking system is strictly linear and cannot be applied retroactively if forgotten. The referee must complete their onboarding directly through the unique referral link at the time of initial digital sign-up, and they must not have held an active energy account under their name or address with GloBird in the preceding 24 months.
